About Cosmos Education
Cosmos Education aims to make a sustained and effective difference by working from the ground up reaching individual students and teachers and making a difference in the classroom. We focus on science and technology education and the role of science and technology in health, the environment, and sustainable development. Our model is grassroots development from within; we want the youth in developing regions of the world to decide how their nations develop. This is our mission statement.
In order to be able to do this, the youth must have the knowledge and skills needed to understand the rapidly changing world around them. They must be inspired, empowered, and engaged in their education. By working directly in classrooms, making learning fun with hands-on experiments, and providing the students with talented role-models from their own geographic region, we hope to excite students about their potential drive development from within and to catalyze development that will have a positive effect on the biosphere.
Cosmos Education is an organization with volunteers and regional branches in many places around the world. If you are interested in becoming a member of Cosmos Education and getting more involved, please contact your nearest Regional Branch.
At present there are four regional branches: Cosmos Education Kenya, Cosmos Education UK, Cosmos Education (A Project of the Tides Center) and Cosmos Education Zambia. These groups all help in fund raising, in-kind donation collection, organisation, publicity and finding volunteers.
All of the work of Cosmos Education is being done by the four regional branches. Find out about your nearest branch and how to get in touch with them.
Cosmos Education relies on its volunteers and we are always on the look-out for new members. If you would like to be involved and can offer assistance with (or would like more information on) any of our work, please get in touch with your nearest Regional Branch as above.
In Kenya, Cosmos Education Kenya is Registered Society No. 26710.
